Environment Canada says it was so hot on Monday the heat broke a record.
It reached 34.1 Celcius on Monday, smashing a record set in 1874 when it reached 33.9 Celsius.
Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder said Tuesday was also hot but not warm enough to break the record for two days straight.
"It topped out at 34.8 degrees Celcius. The current standing record for June 24 is 36.1 Celcius, set in 1952," said Flisfeder.
Windsor was one of many records that fell earlier this week. In Sarnia, the thermometer reached 34.8 Celcius, while in Wiarton, it was 32.2, breaking a record set in 1964. The Toronto area got up to 36 Celcius on Monday.
If you prefer cooler temperatures, enjoy them on Wednesday because the heat will return on Thursday.
"It looks like Thursday through to early next week, it's going to be in the low 30s," Flisfeder said. "Today's [Wednesday] is your only relative cool down for the foreseeable future."
