Hub Without Walls fully staffed to address gender based violence in the community

New frontline staff at 10 community agencies are on the job to help prevent and respond to gender based violence in Windsor-Essex.

They were hired as part of the Hub Without Walls initiative, funded over the next two years with $2.5 million from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS). The funding was first announced in April.

The project brings together 18 community agencies to create a unified response to gender based violence and provide mobile services to youth, adults, and families.

"We really wanted to collaborate and bring all this together to make sure that we are using the right information and sharing out the resources where people needed it and to receive it how they needed it," said Sylvie Guenther, Executive Director of the Hiatus House.

Community organizations include Hiatus House, Legal Assistance of Windsor, and the Sexual Assault Crisis Centre.
