The accolades continue to pile up for the University of Windsor.
The school announced last week that it had placed in the top 25 per cent of universities around the world, according to the ranking by the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.
"This milestone is a reflection of the University’s momentum and commitment to excellence," said U of W President and Vice-Chancellor J.J. McMurtry. "It speaks to the incredible work of our faculty, staff, and students and the role UWindsor plays in advancing education, research, and impact."
U of W climbed ten notches over the 2025 THE ranking, to 532nd out of 2,191 schools surveyed around the world.
In Canada, the university ranked 19th out of 33 nationwide, ranking sixth across the country in non-medical universities, and fourth in Ontario.
"These results reinforce our mission to provide transformative learning experiences that prepare students to thrive and lead," said U of W Interim Provost and Vice-President of Academics Dr. Cheryl Collier. "The University of Windsor is a university on the rise, and our students are rising with it."
Other rankings achieved by U of W are 164th in international outlook, which highlights a global reach and an inclusive approach. It also earned a research quality score of 60.5, almost doubling the score from 2023.
