London Police say they have a 30-year-old LaSalle man in custody after a protest outside a conference of defence contractors in that city.
Protesters gathered outside the RBC Place on October 21, carrying signs that read "Stop arming Israel" and waving Palestinian flags.
The Best Defence Conference is a meeting of Canadian aerospace, defence, and public safety officials.
At around 7:45 a.m., police were called to the protest at York Street and Wellington Street, where protesters blocked the building's front entrance, threw paint at staff, and barricaded the parking garage with construction materials.
They said a man wearing a mask assaulted another man who tried to remove the barricade.
He's charged with mischief over $5,000, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, assault, and disguise with intent.
The suspect is the second person arrested during the protest. On October 22, police arrested a 34-year-old Owen Sound woman who allegedly used a hammer to break electronic locks off the front entrance of the building.
That suspect fled into the crowd when police approached her, and allegedly resisted arrest.
The woman is also charged with mischief exceeding $5,000, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and disguise with intent, as well as resisting arrest. She'll be in a London courtroom on December 4.
Damage to the building was around $32,000.
London Police ask anyone with information regarding the protest to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
