Teen charged in armed assault, police search for second suspect

Windsor Police have arrested a 16-year-old girl and are looking for an 18-year-old woman after an armed assault and property damage were reported on Louis Avenue.

Police said two masked suspects took a vehicle without the owner's permission the morning of November 26. They drove to a home on Louis Avenue to confront a resident, and when the victim answered the door, one suspect sprayed them with bear spray, while the other pointed a firearm-style BB gun at them.

The suspects fled, but returned two hours later. That time, one suspect used a knife to smash a glass window, and the other fired the BB gun at a surveillance camera.

No one was hurt, and the Major Crimes Unit quickly identified both suspects.

The next day, the 16-year-old turned herself over to police at the Windsor Police headquarters. Officers charged her with assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, two counts of wearing a disguise to commit an offence, occupying a vehicle without consent, mischief, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

Police are still looking for 18-year-old Maya Rose Labelle-Handsor. She faces a similar list of charges.

Labelle-Hansor is described as white, 5'3", slender, with long, black hair, and brown eyes.

If you know Labelle-Hansor's whereabouts, you're asked to call the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, Crime Stoppers at 51-258-8477, or go to www.catchcrooks.com.
