Welcoming a new baby into the family is a joyful time, but it can also bring feelings of stress, anxiety, low mood, or even feeling overwhelmed.
That's why the Canadian Mental Health Association Windsor-Essex County Branch is offering new parents a supportive program designed to help them adjust.
The program, Enjoy Your Baby, offers caregivers a safe and supportive space to talk about their experiences while learning practical strategies to care for their own mental health.
Participants will learn ways to manage worry and stress, build confidence in coping with life's changes, and acquire skills to tackle the everyday challenges of living with a newborn.
The program is grounded in the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is facilitated by a certified instructor.
The program is five sessions for caregivers of babies up to 12 months. Each session runs for two hours, and caregivers can choose from four available start dates. It's being offered at the Connections Early Years Centre on Giles Boulevard East in Windsor.
