Suspect wanted in vehicle arson investigation

Windsor police are asking for the public's help in their search for a suspect after a vehicle was set on fire in Amherstberg.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m. December 13, 2025, police responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the area of Mullen Crescent and Lavers Crescent.

Police alleged that a male suspect had been dropped off by a taxi nearby and walked up to a property on Mullen Crescent, poured an accelerant on a 2017 Ford Explorer, and set the vehicle on fire.

They also say that the suspect then ran back to the taxi, which departed moments later.

No injuries were reported. The fire caused approximately $105,000 in damage to the vehicle and residence.

The suspect is described as a male wearing all black clothing.

Investigators were unable to track the specific taxi involved, as the meter was not active at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Windsor Police Arson Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4330.
