Windsor residents will be allowed to put two additional garbage bags out for collection over the next two collection periods.
Starting December 30, the hard-sided garbage container bylaw will be suspended until January 27, 2026.
The city said the bags must weigh less than 20 kgs or 44 lbs, and must be placed at the curb beside garbage containers.
"Please do not place bags on top of pails," said a release.
Garbage has to be placed on the curb no later than 6 a.m. on your collection day.
Crews will not pick up furniture, appliances, electronics, loose material, or household chemical waste. Those items can be dropped off at the Public Drop-Off Depot near Central Avenue and the E.C. Row. The Depot will be shut down on December 24, 25, 26, and January 1.
