If anyone needs to travel, the OPP recommends slowing down, clearing your vehicle of any snow or ice, keeping your full headlights on at all times, and ensuring you have a full tank of gas and a fully charged cellphone in case of an accident.

According to Environment Canada, the freezing rain had stopped by Friday evening.

The weather caused several power outages in Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent, and midwestern Ontario.
