ENWIN crews head to Kawarthas for storm cleanup

With 15,000 Hydro One customers in eastern Ontario still without power as of Tuesday morning, crews from ENWIN Utilities are headed to the Kawarthas region to help restore electricity.

According to the Toronto Star, high winds and ice accumulation on tree branches during a powerful winter storm brought down power lines across Eastern Ontario and Quebec on Monday.

"As a local utility, we understand how critical reliable power is for every community," said ENWIN's Chief Operating Officer, Jim Brown. "We are committed to supporting Hydro One's restoration efforts while maintaining strong, dependable service for our customers at home."

The deployment near Peterborough will not impact local power. Windsor escaped relatively unscathed from the storm.

ENWIN is participating in restoration efforts through the Ontario Mutual Aid Group and will work closely with distribution partners across the province to ensure an efficient, coordinated response to major outage events.
