Windsor police are looking for a suspect they believe is connected to a hit-and-run and a vehicle fire.
Just after 3 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to Wellington Avenue, where a cyclist had been struck by a vehicle. An investigation revealed the cyclist was travelling northbound when he was hit from behind.
The suspect vehicle then hit a parked car in a driveway, forcing it into a utility pole. The suspect then left the scene.
The cyclist had non-life-threatening injuries.
The next day, police were called to a vehicle fire on Charl Avenue. Officers found a grey 2017 Chevrolet Cruz with significant fire damage. A jerry can was found near the vehicle.
Investigators believe the car may be the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. They're asking residents and business owners in the area to check their surveillance cameras for possible evidence.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service Traffic Enforcement Unit at 519-945-9645 ext. 7032.
