Three alleged bail offenders re-arrested after bracelets cut

The decision to cut electronic ankle monitors has resulted in three people going back behind bars.

The Bail Compliance Unit, a joint venture of Windsor police and LaSalle police, re-arrested three people last week who allegedly breached bail conditions.

The first involved a 56-year-old man who was granted bail on November 17, 2025, while facing charges including theft, break-and-enter, and possession of fentanyl.

The man removed his monitor on Boxing Day, but was located in Sarnia on New Year's Day. Sarnia officers took the man into custody and turned him over to their Windsor counterparts.

The second suspect is a 33-year-old man who was granted bail on December 11, while facing charges including motor vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. Police say he cut his monitor off on December 29.

Officers with Windsor's Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) Unit arrested him on Sunday on Elliott Street East near MacDougall.

Finally, a 21-year-old man removed his ankle monitor after being granted bail, while facing charges of mischief and motor vehicle theft.

He was arrested on December 29 on Glengarry Avenue near University Avenue East.

All of them are facing additional charges including failure to comply with a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court.
