Two people have been charged in connection with a series of vehicle thefts and break-ins at Windsor businesses.
Just after 4 a.m. on Friday, two people tried to break into a business on Dougall Avenue near Eugenie Avenue. Though they did not gain entry, the entry was seriously damaged.
Not long after, the suspects broke the front window of a business on Ottawa Street near Chilver Road and gained entry. They took tools, cash, and the keys to two company vehicles, which they located and drove off in.
The Auto Theft Unit soon identified both suspects. They were arrested on Friday on Elsmere Avenue near Niagara Street.
A 46-year-old man and a 43-year-old man are each charged with two counts of auto theft, two counts of possession of break-in tools, and one count of theft under $5,000, attempted break-and-enter, and break-and-enter to commit theft under $5,000.
The 43-year-old is also charged with two counts of wearing a disguise to commit an offence, and one count of breach of probation.
The charges have not been proven in court.
