Windsorites encouraged to take surveys on future playground designs

Residents in Windsor can have their say on the design of new playgrounds throughout the city.

The City of Windsor is encouraging residents to participate in two online surveys on the replacement of 35 neighbourhood playgrounds as well a new, larger playground at Lanspeary Park.

Residents will be able to provide feedback on playground design, preferred play features, accessibility, and overall park experience.

The projects are supported by Council-approved funding of approximately $16.2-million as part of the city's Playground Replacement Program.

The initiative intends to provide improved access to modern and inclusive recreation opportunities for families throughout the city.

The new playground at Lanspeary Park is expected to be around twice the size of the playground at Riverside Baseball Park and will include various play features and experiences for children of all ages and abilities.

"With this significant investment to replace ageing playgrounds, we are investing responsibly with an eye towards growth, sustainability, affordability, and quality of life for Windsorites," said Mayor Drew Dilkens. "I encourage everyone to take the surveys and help shape Windsor's future together."

Residents interested in filling out the survey can visit the City of Windsor's official website.
