Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026 tour is coming to Windsor this July.
"Hosting this event at City Hall Square on Wednesday, July 15 creates an incredible opportunity to bring our community together in the heart of downtown," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. "Canada Celebrates will welcome residents and visitors alike to experience the energy of the world's game. This is about more than sport. This is about showcasing Windsor on a national stage."
The tour invites football fans to watch matches, experience cultural programming, music, food, and moments of national pride.
"At its core, Canada Celebrates is a fan experience, recognizing that supporters and communities are essential to the FIFA World Cup," read a release. It says programming details will be released closer to the date.
From June 11 to July 19, Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026 will make stops in 34 communities across Canada. The stops were chosen because they're within a two-hour drive for 75 per cent of the Canadian population.
The FIFA World Cup is the largest sporting event in Canada's history. Canada, along with Mexico and the U.S., is hosting 104 matches featuring 48 teams in 16 host cities. In Canada, matches will be played in Vancouver and Toronto.
Canada plays Bosnia-Herzegovina in its first match on June 12, followed by matches against Qatar and Switzerland on June 18 and June 24.
