Windsor Police hope the public can help them find a man wanted after a crash that injured two people almost a year ago.
Police are looking for 41-year-old William Szabo-Verzoc. They describe him as a white man with a light complexion and a heavy build. He is about 6' tall and 360 lbs, with brown hair, facial hair, and hazel eyes.
He is among the suspects highlighted in the Windsor Police Service's "Wanted in Windsor" initiative, which showcases suspects who are currently evading arrest.
The night of the crash, police say Szabo-Verzoc allegedly threatened employees at a bar on Wyandotte Street East before fleeing in his vehicle. While southbound on Lauzon Parkway, he failed to stop at Tecumseh Road East and hit another vehicle.
The driver and the passenger of the second vehicle suffered serious injuries.
Police arrested Szabo-Verzoc at the scene and charged him with two counts of impaired operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm, impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, driving under suspension, and uttering death threats.
He was released with court-imposed conditions, but failed to show up for a court appearance in December.
Currently, police don't know where Szabo-Verzoc is.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Windsor Police Service at 519-255-6700, Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477, or go to www.catchcrooks.com.
