Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI) has featured a soon-to-be brand new attraction on the cover of its new visitors' guide.
Local hospitality and tourism officials revealed the 2026-27 Official Visitors Guide during a preview of the Staycation Expo, set for this weekend at Devonshire Mall in Windsor. The Gordie Howe International Bridge is on the cover.
TWEPI CEO Gordon Orr said placing the nearly completed bridge on the cover was a no-brainer.
"The inclusion of the Gordie Howe International Bridge and its multi-use path speaks to the growing connectivity between Windsor and Detroit, and the exciting opportunities it creates for visitors to experience our destination in new and active ways," said Orr. "From cycling across an international border to discovering the unique stories that define our communities, this guide is designed to inspire exploration like never before."
The guide highlights the opportunity for cyclists and walkers to cross the bridge at no charge when it opens, with the project considered a game-changer for regional tourism.
TWEPI's Jason Toner said the guide will be available free of charge at the Staycation Expo.
"With more than 80 partners under one roof, it’s an opportunity to discover hidden gems, connect directly with the people behind the experiences, and be inspired to explore everything Windsor-Essex has to offer right in your own backyard," said Toner.
The expo, in its 12th year, will feature over 40 stakeholder partner activations.
Also available will be a Tasting Zone, with 12 Windsor-Essex wineries plus 13 distilleries and craft breweries, the W.E. Made It Market with 14 local artisans, and the W.E. Heart Local pop-up featuring 7 growers, producers, and markets.
The Staycation Expo is free and will run Friday and Saturday during regular Devonshire Mall hours.
The digital version of the Official Visitors Guide can be seen on TWEPI's official website.
