WECHU continues to monitor Pertussis cases in Essex County

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has identified three additional locations where residents may have been exposed to the Pertussis virus.

The health unit first alerted the public to confirmed cases of Whooping Cough in the community on June 22. A cluster of five cases has now been confirmed.

Pertussis is a highly contagious respiratory and throat infection that spreads through close contact with an affected person.

Individuals who may have visited the locations below during the specified dates and times should monitor for symptoms for up to 21 days after possible exposure.
