Portions of southwestern Ontario may be looking at some wild weather on Friday night.
Environment Canada has issued a yellow severe thunderstorm watch for Chatham-Kent, southern Wellington County, Sarnia-Lambton, and Windsor-Essex.
The weather agency is tracking a line of thunderstorms moving across Michigan.
At 6:15 p.m., the yellow watch was upgraded to a yellow severe thunderstorm warning for Windsor-Essex.
Heavy downpours, wind gusts of up to 100 kilometres per hour, and ping-pong ball sized hail are possible with this system.
"Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain," read the notice from Environment Canada.
