A 25-year-old has been arrested after a seemingly unprovoked attack involving a baseball bat.
Shortly before 5 p.m. on July 2, Windsor police officers responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence on Riverside Drive East near Patrice Drive.
Officers learned that a contractor working outside the home was approached by an unknown man wearing only underwear and carrying a baseball bat.
The suspect then allegedly attacked the victim, striking him approximately 12 times, including four blows to the head, in what investigators believe to be a random assault.
The victim then went into the residence and locked the door.
The suspect followed and smashed the front sidelight and front door windows, causing approximately $1,500 in damage, before leaving.
The victim has non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers found and arrested the suspect at a nearby residence.
