Police across Windsor-Essex are preparing for a gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts this week.
Windsor police and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say additional patrols will be in place between Thursday and Sunday due to a planned gathering of about 750 people linked to the Hells Angels and other motorcycle groups from across Ontario and Canada.
"The community can expect an increased and visible police presence during this time as officers monitor activities and respond to public safety concerns," read a release from Windsor police.
Police say they are not aware of any potential issues, but officers will be working toward minimizing disruption and ensuring everyone's safety.
"Motorists may experience temporary traffic delays or increased congestion in some areas. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, use caution, and follow posted signage and directions from officers," read the release.
Anyone witnessing any suspicious activity should call Windsor police at (519) 258-6111, or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. For emergencies, call 911.
