Windsor-Essex employees of the Ford Motor Company will get a look at a tentative new contract this weekend.
Unifor Local 200 has scheduled a ratification meeting for 10 a.m. on Sunday at the Caboto Club in Windsor.
Ford Canada and Unifor announced the tentative deal this past Saturday, after less than two weeks of bargaining.
Details have not been disclosed and won't be until after the contract is presented to the union membership, but Unifor's Ford bargaining committee has unanimously recommended ratification.
Local 200 members will need their union cards to enter the meeting on Sunday, though the union did mention on its Facebook page that a photo ID will also be acceptable.
Unifor chose Ford as its first target for negotiations in the 2026 bargaining cycle. The first target is often used as a guide for talks with the other automakers.
The union will name either Stellantis or General Motors as its next target after the Ford contract is settled.
Ford Canada is well-represented in Windsor, with the Windsor Engine Plant and the Essex Engine Plant.
