After 28 years of public service, Joe Milicia, LaSalle's Chief Administrative Officer, is retiring.
As of January 1, 2027, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Peter Marra will take over as the town's CAO.
Milicia was hired by the Town of LaSalle in 1999 as the town's Director of Finance and Treasurer. He was promoted to Deputy CAO in 2014, and became the CAO in 2018.
"Serving our community and organization has been one of the greatest privileges of my life," said Milicia. "Over the years, I have worked alongside dedicated elected officials, talented staff, community partners, and residents who have all contributed to the success and growth of our town."
During Milicia's tenure as CAO, the town has undertaken many major projects, including the construction of the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex, LaSalle Civic Centre, a second fire station, and LaSalle Landing.
"Joe's leadership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment have helped shape LaSalle into the strong, financially responsible, and thriving municipality it is today," said Mayor Crystal Meloche. "Personally, I have been fortunate to work alongside Joe during my time as mayor, and have always valued his knowledge, steady advice, and genuine commitment to doing what is best for our community."
The Town of LaSalle hired Marra in 2010 as the Manager of Water and Wastewater. He was then appointed the Executive Director of Public Works. In 2020, he was appointed the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.
