There will be a memorial service to honour the 158 Canadian Armed Forces members who lost their lives in the Afghanistan War this weekend.
On Saturday, residents are invited to gather at Reaume Park on Riverside Drive East. It starts at 11 a.m.
A release stated "the end of Canada's contribution to the war in 2014, and the events that followed, brought personal and national reflection on what had been accomplished, and what had been lost."
All are welcome to remember those who "stood at the ready and gave up a piece of their individuality to become a part of something larger than themselves."
