Visitors to the Ojibway Prairie Complex will notice some chemicals being applied throughout September.
The City of Windsor has hired the Invasive Phragmites Control Centre (IPCC) to apply a herbicide to control Phragmites australis, a restricted species in Ontario.
The City says the application will occur along the authorized trail system and within the natural areas at Ojibway Park, Tallgrass Prairie Heritage Park, Titcombe Trail, and the Spring Garden Natural Area.
The herbicide application will also be done at Peche Island, East Riverside Park, and Sandpoint Beach, according to the City.
The work will be done through September 30, weather permitting.
Trails at all properties will stay open, but visitors are asked to stay on the authorized paths only.
