Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say everyone is safe after a rescue off Leamington over Labour Day weekend.
Few details have been released, but a caller to the WindsorNewsToday.ca newsroom reported unusual activity Saturday afternoon off Point Pelee North West Beach.
The witness reported that visitors in a kayak and an inflatable raft were blown offshore into Lake Erie.
The OPP and Essex-Windsor EMS were involved in the rescue, along with the Canadian Coast Guard and a passerby who used their own vessel.
OPP Constable Stephanie Caron said on Tuesday afternoon that the incident had a happy ending.
"All parties were removed safely from the water by Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), and a civilian jet ski," Caron said in an email to WindsorNewsToday.ca.
No injuries were reported.
