Future research at the new Fancsy Family Hospital in Windsor is getting a $500,000 infusion from the Morris and Beverly Baker Foundation.
The foundation has been around for more than 30 years and champions healthcare, education, the arts, and community causes.
The money will help buy new state-of-the-art equipment and technology that will be used at the Education and Administrative Building on the new hospital's campus for medical education and research.
In return for the donation, an education space in the building will be named "The Morris and Beverly Baker Foundation Classroom."
"We are incredibly proud to fund the cutting-edge equipment that will drive medical innovation here in Windsor-Essex," said Beverly Baker. "To see this commitment recognized through the Morris and Beverly Baker Foundation Classroom is deeply meaningful to our family. We know this dedicated space will serve as a vibrant hub where current and future healthcare professionals can learn, collaborate, and master the advanced technologies that will shape the future of care at the Fanscy Family Hospital."
Executive Director of the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation, Cristina Nacarato, said the gift ensures local medical teams, students, and healthcare professionals will train on the highest standard of technology.
"Education is a critical piece of the new state-of-the-art acute care hospital," she said. "As we enter the back-to-school season, we are excited to announce a gift that will enhance how our healthcare professionals engage in continuous learning."
