The Town of Essex has partnered with ENWIN Utilities and the Essex Centre BIA to construct a new outdoor amphitheatre at Heritage Park.
The facility, to be known as the ENWIN Amphitheatre, will host community events, live entertainment, and celebrations in the park.
"This investment reflects ENWIN's long-term commitment to the communities we are privileged to serve," said ENWIN Utilities Chief Executive Officer Garry Rossi. “We are proud to partner with the Town of Essex on a project that will create a lasting gathering place where residents and visitors can enjoy local culture, entertainment, and community events for years to come."
The performance area within the amphitheatre will be named the Essex Centre BIA Main Stage to reflect the BIA's contribution to the project.
“The BIA name on that stage represents the 200+ businesses in Essex Centre, and together we've been investing in this park for years - the picnic pavilion, and contributions toward the washroom facility and the downtown streetscape,” said Exxest Centre BIA Chair Stephanie Winger. “When people come to Essex for a concert or festival, they find the shops, restaurants and services that make this a destination worth returning to.”
A construction timeline for the project has not been finalized.
The outdoor amphitheatre will be fully funded by the community partners.
