The opening of Windsor's electric vehicle battery plant has resulted in the company receiving recognition.
NextStar Energy has received the Energy Storage Milestone Award from Energy Storage Canada, for creating the only full-scale battery manufacturing facility in Canada.
"This award is a tremendous recognition of what our team has accomplished in such a short time," said NextStar CEO Danies Lee. "The grand opening of our Windsor facility was the culmination of hard work, dedication, and ambition in the face of a changing industry. While this is an important milestone, it is only the beginning. We are committed to Canada and proud to be building advanced battery solutions here in Ontario."
Energy Storage Canada President and CEO Justin Rangooni said the award calls attention to the company's strides in raising clean energy awareness.
"Each significant milestone in energy storage demonstrates what is possible and creates a foundation for further industry growth," said Rangooni. "The Energy Storage Milestone Award recognizes achievements that translate ambition into tangible progress and lasting benefits for the sector. We are proud to recognize NextStar Energy as this year’s recipient."
The award was presented at Energy Storage Canada's annual conference in Toronto.
