Stefen S. was on his work break when he realized he had won $50,500 with a Cash Boost Scratch ticket.
He had decided to visit the store to check his lottery ticket.
"I was in the store shaking and sweating profusely from excitement and nerves," said Stefan S., a resident of Comber. "The store clerk told me I had to wait for a call from the OLG. It was surreal."
His nerves were so frazzled that he asked a coworker to call his mother and share the news.
"I couldn't even call her myself because I was too shaky!" he told officials at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto as he collected his windfall. "When she picked up and heard my coworker tell her I'd won the lottery, she thought it was a prank. It wasn't until later, when I showed her the validation slip, that she really believed me!"
Stefan bought his winning ticket at Mr Video & Convenience on Queen Street South in Tilbury.
He plans to pay some bills, invest, and save for his retirement. He also plans to treat himself to a new coffee maker.
