The Windsor Spitfires suffered a narrow 4-3 loss to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Friday.
The Greyhounds scored early in the first period to take the lead, but Luke Boka scored 14:06 into the frame to tie things up. The Greyhounds added one more before the second for a 2-1 lead.
The Spitfires tied the game again with a goal from Will Cuylle 4:06 into the second, but the Greyhounds scored another two back-to-back goals to hold a two goals advantage.
Cole Purboo scored for Windsor 6:32 into the final frame, but the Spitfires came up short in the final minutes to fall with a one-goal deficit.
The Greyhounds outshot the Spitfires 42-24, while Windsor goaltender Colton Incze made 38 saves.
The Spitfires are headed to Saginaw on Saturday to battle the Spirit at 7:05 p.m.
