Spitfires lose on road to London

It’s a game the Windsor Spitfires will probably feel they should have won.

They were in London on Friday taking on the Knights and ended up losing 5-1. Despite the score, the Spitfires outshot London 41 to 29.

Neither team were able to score in the first period.

The first goal came in the second period from London’s Blake Montgomery.

The Spitfires would tie the game later in the period with a poweplay goal from Ilya Protas. His 26th goal was assisted by Liam Greentree and Carson Woodall.

London would head into the second intermission with a lead thanks to Montgomery’s second goal of the game.

The third period saw London score three goals despite being outshot. They came from Sam Dickinson, Sam O’Reilly, and Denver Barkey.

With the loss, Windsor sees its record drop to 29-8-2-1, while London moves to 31-6-1-0.

The Spitfires' next game is on Saturday, January 11, on the road against the Flint Firebirds.
