The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) has set the debut date for its Motor City team.
The yet-to-be-named Detroit team will start its inaugural season on Sunday, December 6, when it visits fellow expansion team PWHL Las Vegas.
The first home opener will be on Saturday, December 12 at Little Caesars Arena.
Before that, the Detroit squad will play two preseason games in Ancaster, on November 23 against the Ottawa Charge, and November 24 against the expansion team from Hamilton.
The league will unveil its full regular-season schedule on Friday.
PWHL Detroit will begin play under the direction of its general manager, Manon Rhéaume, and head coach Josh Sciba.
