Soy Canada is turning up the heat on the European Union over approvals for three genetically modified soybean products.
Chair Mark Huston says it's been over three months since the three GM products were considered by the EU Appeal Committee.
Soy Canada says all three have been given a positive opinion by the European Food Safety Authority, clearing them of any food, feed or environmental safety concerns.
Executive Director Jim Everson says the credibility of the CETA agreement is on the line when Europe is already ignoring commitments it made to Canada during negotiations.
Huston points out the EU is a major market for Canada and growers can't take the risk of shipping soybeans there before they are approved for that market.
Soy Canada has asked for a formal explanation for the delay and is calling on the federal government to press the EU for a finalization of approval for those products.
