Man charged after allegedly exposing himself

Police say a man is facing charges after allegedly exposing himself to a woman early Monday morning in downtown Chatham.

Officers were able to figure out who he was, and he was arrested and charged with public nudity and indecent exposure.

The 48-year-old suspect, of no-fixed-address, is currently being held in police custody

Domestic disturbance in Wallaceburg

A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault after a verbal argument escalated.

Officers were called to a home in Wallaceburg on Sunday night when the man allegedly assaulted his common-law wife.

He's being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Operation CRASH nets tickets

31 tickets were issued by Chatham-Kent police on Thursday, December 13.

The traffic unit conducted 'Operation CRASH' using creative measure to spot violations.

The infractions caught related to distracted driving through cell-phone use, speeding, seatbelt usage, and tickets related to vehicle and insurance documents.

Constable Eckel passes away

The Chatham-Kent Police Service in mourning the loss of Constable Randy Eckel, who passed away Monday morning from a medical condition.

Constable Eckel started his career in policing with the Haldimand-Norfolk police in 1986. He's been with CK police since 1998 and worked in Thamesville, Wallaceburg, Chatham, and Ridgetown.

Flags at the municipal service centre will be lowered in his honour.
