A 35-year-old Wallaceburg man is in police custody after a man forced his way into a Sarnia home at around 2 p.m. Monday.
Sarnia police said a man knocked on the door at the Wellington Street address and asked the female victim several questions before forcing his way in. The man, armed with a pellet gun, pinned the woman against the refrigerator.
Fortunately, the victim's boyfriend was able to disarm the man and he ran from the residence with the gun.
Police said both the male and female victim suffered very minor injuries.
Police later found a bag with the pellet gun inside and were able to determine that the man had fled to Wallaceburg.
A suspect was later arrested by the Chatham-Kent police and returned to Sarnia. Buddy Dinny Labor now faces one count of break and enter, two counts of assault, and one count of possessing an imitation firearm to commit an offence. He was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
Police said the matter was an isolated incident directed specifically at the female victim.
