Stolen Camaro found

Chatham-Kent police have recovered a stolen 1986 red Camaro.

The vehicle worth approximately $10,000, was reported stolen from a Wallaceburg residence Tuesday morning. Officers later found the vehicle on Walpole Island Tuesday afternoon.

There's no word on if an arrest in connection with the theft has been made.

Police are asking for help from the public in identifying a man in connection with a theft investigation.

An image of the man has been provided by police and can be viewed to the left.

No further information about the theft has been provided.

Woman charged for trespassing

A 27-year-old Ridgetown woman has been charged for allegedly trespassing on private property.

Police said officers were called to Shewburg Road in Ridgetown Tuesday afternoon. The 27-year-old had allegedly trespassed earlier in the day and during a second attempt, she was arrested.

Windsor woman arrested in Chatham

A Windsor woman is in trouble with the law after she was allegedly caught shoplifting in Chatham.

The 52-year-old woman is accused of shoplifting from a business on St. Clair Street Tuesday night. She has since been released from police custody with a future court date.

Police issue reminder to residents

Chatham-Kent police are reminding residents to "make the right call".

As false 911 calls take-up resources, officers want to remind the public that 911 is for life-threatening emergencies. People with non-emergency issues can call 519-352-1234. Those with general inquiries are asked to call 519-436-6600 ext. 222.
