A campaign to build a state-of-the-art facility for the Children's Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC) is getting a financial boost from HandyBros ClimateCare and its employees.
A total of $20,000 was donated to the Chatham-Kent Children's Treatment Centre Foundation on Thursday toward its Butterfly Building campaign.
The donation was made after HandyBros employees contributed $7,500 and the company added in $12,500.
"Our staff see the need in the community to help the kids and want to make a difference. We are so proud to be a part of making this donation to the CTC Foundation with them," said Mitch White from HandyBros ClimateCare. "Since the day my brother Nic and I took over HandyBros, we vowed that we’d use this company to make a difference in this world. Children and youth and the needs that they have run very close to our hearts."
The Butterfly Building campaign will support a much-needed larger facility to accommodate more children. The CTC serves one in five kids and youth in Chatham-Kent, however, 1,300 children are currently on a waiting list.
"I would like to thank Handy Brothers, Mitch White, and his staff for helping the kids of the Children’s Treatment Centre," said CTC Foundation President Mike Genge. "Management and Staff see during this pandemic, our lack of space is what determines how many families we can service at the CTC. Our new building is more important than ever to allow our kids to access our services."
The CTC has spent nearly 70 years caring for children and youth in Chatham-Kent by providing specialized therapy.
