Sarnia-Lambton residents are being encouraged to support local restaurants this New Years Eve, on what's typically one of the busiest days to dine out all year.
Establishments are being forced to close their doors to walk-in traffic this year, as part of Ontario's province-wide COVID lockdown.
Chamber of Commerce President Allan Calvert said it's vitally important now, more than ever, to support them by taking advantage of curbside service.
"To have your doors closed for walk-in traffic, is a tremendous hit to business," said Calvert. "There's no better opportunity for us to assist local businesses, and to take advantage of the great fare than right now. So, where possible please support our local restaurant business."

Calvert said people usually wait until the last minute to make their New Year's plans, and he expects restaurants to be inundated with inquiries over the next few days.
He said some could be offering specials, but others might be hesitant to do so.
"Keep in mind that for some restaurants, putting together a special at the risk of possibly not selling out of it, they would therefore be stuck with inventory of that particular item," he said. "What they're all doing is offering their full menu, and believe me they will make sure it's outstanding."
