Tilbury crash leads to impaired driving charge 

A 28-year-old man is facing an impaired driving charge after being involved in a single motor vehicle crash early Sunday morning that sent him to hospital.

Emergency crews responded to the crash at around 1:30 a.m. on Coutts Line in Tilbury.

Police said the driver was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Breath tests were given and the man was charged with having a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released with a future court date.

Man arrested for uttering threats during altercation 

A 27-year-old Chatham man is accused of uttering threats during an altercation early last week.

Police said officers responded to a domestic related incident on Tuesday at a Chatham residence.

On Saturday, the accused was arrested and charged with uttering threats.

He was released with a future court date.

Chatham man accused of stealing from local business 

The long arm of the law caught up with a 33-year-old Chatham who who allegedly stole from a local business.

Chatham-Kent police responded to a theft complaint at the Chatham business Saturday night.

The suspect fled the area in a vehicle, but was located a short time later and arrested for theft and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

The stolen property was recovered and the accused was released with a future court date.
