UPDATE: Eastbound Hwy 401 in Rodney reopened after crash

Ontario Provincial Police report a section of the eastbound Highway 401 just past Chatham-Kent has reopened after a tractor trailer jackknifed.

Elgin County OPP Constable Brett Phair told CK News Today the highway was closed for a few hours due to a jackknifed tractor trailer.

"Hopefully, it stays this way, all lanes of the Highway 401 are now open and on-ramp to the E/B Hwy 401 at Furnival is open," Phair said.

No injuries were reported.

A 33-year-old driver from Brampton was charged with careless driving.

The OPP issued a notice about the lane closure shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday and said it reopened just before 1:30 p.m.

That follows a message from Phair on social media, warning drivers earlier in the morning on Thursday to be extra cautious on the highway amid snowy, slippery conditions.
