A 72-year-old woman is dead after fire broke out at her Woodstock home.
The Woodstock Fire Department says fire crews were called to the home at 258 Dundas St., on Sunday around 10:09pm. Firefighters were able to pull the woman from the burning home and perform CPR. She was then rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The woman was the only person in the home at the time.
Fire officials say the blaze was out quickly, but the flames and heavy smoke caused about $95,000 in damages.
The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office has attended to the scene to try to determine the cause of the blaze. The cause of the woman's death is also unknown at this time.
