Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, families in London will still be able to get their picture taken with Santa Claus in Victoria Park.
It will just mean that they'll have to book an appointment online.
The Teresina Larizza Charities Foundation is bringing Santa's House back to the downtown park for another year to give families a chance to get a picture with St. Nick while raising money for charity. From November 27 to December 23, Santa's House will be open every day from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. as well as from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. Pictures can be taken with Santa Claus for $20, with all proceeds going toward the TLC Foundation's efforts to provide gifts for underprivileged, sick, and terminally ill children in the community.
“Santa’s House is the most significant fundraising initiative of the year for the TLC Foundation. The pandemic has affected the lives of many children who are already going through more than any child should,” said TLC Foundation founder Leo Larizza. “With the donations raised from Santa’s House as part of this year’s Operation Holiday Spirit campaign, we can ensure that we’re still finding a way to put smiles on the faces of these amazing heroes.”
Due to the pandemic, extra efforts will be made to minimize the risk of COVID-19 exposure. Anyone visiting Santa's House will have to wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, and practice physical distancing. Santa Claus, the photographer, and volunteers will be behind barriers so that masks can be taken off for pictures. Santa's House will also be given a deep cleaning with sanitizing fog each night.
