There will soon be a new person at the helm of Mission Services of London.
The social service organization announced Wednesday its current executive director Peter Rozeluk will retire on October 14. That same day, current director of development and communications Ericka Ayala Ronson will take over the top position.
"The Board is deeply grateful to Peter for his countless contributions, wisdom and leadership over the past 12 years; he has navigated the challenges–and opportunities–that come with his role with steadfastness, leaving Mission Services of London well positioned for the future,” said Allen Page, the president of Mission Services of London's Board of Directors.
During his time at Mission Services, Rozeluk worked to get the organization accredited through the Canadian Centre for Accreditation, turned it into a living wage employer, and oversaw the expansion of the Mission Store and the addiction treatment program.
Ayala Ronson, who has worked closely with Rozeluk over the years, was born and raised in El Salvador. She immigrated to Canada in 1996. Since then she completed an Honours Business Administration degree at the Ivey Business School and moved into the non-profit sector. Ayala Ronson became a member of Mission Service's senior leadership team in 2012.
“Being involved in the non-profit sector is not a job–it’s my calling. I was fortunate to realize that early on in my career,” said Ayala Ronson. “I’m excited to step into the next chapter and I’m thrilled that I get to do that at Mission Services of London... It’s an honour for me to serve as executive director–especially as we move through a newly unveiled strategic plan. I look forward to our collective work ahead.”
Mission Services of London was established in 1951. It currently has a staff of roughly 150 with more than 200 volunteers. It operates the Men's Mission, Quintin Warner House, and the Rotholme Family Shelter.
