Police have concluded their probe into a report about a woman who was allegedly dragged into a south London conservation area by two men Monday morning.
London police say a large presence of officers repsonded to the area of Westminster Ponds, near Southdale and Wellington roads, at around 11:40 a.m. after a citizen reported seeing a young woman being dragged into the woods by two men.
"Officers responded to the area and commenced a search. Due to the size and terrain of the area, the search is in its early stages and is anticipated to continue for some time," read the initial statement from police.
In an update later Monday evening, police say after several hours of searching the area, they are no longer actively investigating the report.
"The search and initial investigation are complete, and no evidence was discovered to indicate any incident occurred as initially described," read an updated statement from police.
The woman in the alleged incident was described as White, around 20-years-old, with a medium build and long brown hair. She was said to be wearing a black sports bra, tight blue jeans and flat shoes, possibly sandals.
The pair of men are also said to be in their 20s, and are both described as White.
Police say they will continue to investigate any additional information pertaining to the matter if any arises. At this time, there is not beleived to be any concern for public safety.
