A 57-year-old London man plans to take the fiscally responsible route after winning a nearly $153,000 lottery jackpot.
Nagendra Lakshminarayana claimed the $152,983.70 top prize in the Lightning Lotto on January 2. He said he has been playing the lottery for eight years, but this is his first big win.
"When the terminal said I was a big winner, I screamed from the top of my lungs. I was so happy – I couldn't stop jumping. My body was just frozen," Lakshminarayana said while collecting his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
The husband and father who works in the manufacturing industry went on to share that his family was ecstatic when he told them about his prize.
"It's a life changing feeling. I never imagined I would be a winner. This is truly a dream come true," said Lakshminarayana.
He plans to use his winnings to pay off some bills and invest in his children's future.
The winning Lightning Lotto ticket was sold at the Anytime Convenience on Southdale Road in London.
