Differing Outlooks For Winter

There are some differing models on what kind of winter we can expect in Midwestern Ontario.

Environment Canada says a milder and shorter winter is in the cards, with no polar vortex. Temperatures are expected to be closer to historical averages.

In it's winter outlook, the Weather Network is calling for conditions like last year at times. Meteoroligists say it's not going to be an exact repeat, but a lot more ups and downs.

Both Environment Canada and the Weather Network say the warmer waters off South America to the central Pacific will have an affect, known as El Nino.

And according to AccuWeather.com temperatures will not be as harsh as last year but conditions will be right for a couple of significant snowfall events in December with less snowfall in January and February.
