The provincial government has wrapped up public consultations on education.
Education Minister and Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson is encouraged by the level and quality of engagement that took place through telephone town halls, an online survey and open submission form.
She says 72,000 engagements will help the government create policy and program decisions in areas like sexual health, mental health, physical health, job skills, coding, standardized testing, cannabis, financial literacy, science, technology and math.
The Ministry of Education also plans to develop a new Parents' Bill of Rights.
The ministry is currently analyzing the feedback received from parents, students, educators, employers and other organizations. An update on the findings will be provided in winter 2019.
"I am encouraged by the level and quality of engagement in these consultations," said Lisa Thompson, Minister of Education. "I want to sincerely thank the people of Ontario who provided such thoughtful and meaningful feedback."
