Bruce County residents asked to provide input on environmental sustainability

In an effort to craft an environmental sustainability plan that reflects the needs of the region, Bruce County is seeking perspectives and ideas from local residents.

The county has launched an online survey to gather input as it works to develop its first ever Environmental Sustainability Action Plan. The plan is being crafted to guide practical, collaborative actions that support environmental stewardship, climate adaptation, and long-term sustainability through the region.

According to county officials, the survey is confidential and only takes between 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Participants are asked to answer 18 questions including what they see as the most pressing environmental issues in the county and what they believe should be the county's top three environmental priorities over the next 5 to 10 years.

Input collected through the survey will help provide understanding of local environmental priorities, identify challenges and opportunities, and shape meaningful actions that can be taken to address environmental concerns.

“From our shorelines and forests to our towns and farms, Bruce County’s natural environment is deeply connected to our way of life,” Warden Luke Charbonneau said in a statement. “We all have a role to play in protecting it. The Environmental Sustainability Action Plan will be rooted in local voices. I encourage everyone to get involved so the plan truly reflects the needs and values of our region.”

The deadline to participate in the survey is June 22. You can take the survey by clicking here.
