UPDATE: Lakeshore Teen Charged With Murder After Stabbing Death

A Lakeshore teen is facing a murder charge after another teenager was fatally stabbed in Belle River Thursday night.

Police say 18-year-old Marcus Pierce of Windsor died and several other people were hurt in an altercation near Cooper Cres. and Lanore St.  Investigators say the incident is not random, and everyone involved knew each other.

A 17-year-old Lakeshore male was arrested and is now charged with second degree murder and two counts of assault causing bodily harm.

Brian Cassidy tells BlackburnNews.com that he and his wife were watching television in their home on Lenore St. before 10pm when a young woman banged on his door.

He says he knew right away something was terribly wrong.

The young woman was crying, and while she had her cell phone in her hand, she couldn't bring herself to tell the 911 dispatcher what had happened.

"She was screaming so much she was incoherent," he says. "She handed me her phone, and I gave them the address. I told the lady at the other end of the phone what she was saying. She said okay well, police are on the way. Ambulance is on the way. Fire is on the way."

Once the woman thanked him, she left Cassidy's door step, presumably to find her boyfriend.

"I knew right away they were having a party back there," he says, recounting how it is not unusual for young people to walk into the wooded area at the end of his street. "Apparently there are two or three little campsites set up. And the kids go there from high school. They go on breaks from high school. Ten minute little breaks. You know what they're doing back there."

"It was like a war zone. There had to be 13 police cruisers here. Three ambulances. Fire showed up," he continues.

Cassidy says he watched as two of the victims were loaded into ambulances, and three people were questioned individually in police cruisers.

"They had a SWAT team heading out to the woods. They were there an hour before we decided to go to bed," Cassidy says.

He says it is the first time there has been any violence that he's aware of in the wooded area.

The OPP is asking anyone with information to give them a call at the Lakeshore detachment at 519-728-1810 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
